Our farmers
Raul & Gladys
Granadillas
We introduce you to the producer of the granadillas: Raul, his wife Gladys and their son Johan. The family owns a small plantation in Cuellaje in the province of Imbabura. This plantation is located at an altitude of 1700 meters and is ideal for the growth of these fruits due to the climate, which is about 23 degrees during the day. Granadillas have been grown in this area for about 25 years.
Raul and Gladys learned the trade from their parents and love their trade as farmers. Our engineer assists them in word and deed and advises them on how to deal with fertilizer, pruning and caring for the plants.
Raul and Gladys are always happy when we call them to place an order for export granadillas. From Cuellaje with love and granadillas!
Jonathan & Maricela
Pitahayas
Meet our producers to the Pitahayas: Jonathan and Maricela. They live in the town of Palora in the province of Morona Santiago. Palora is the center of Pitahaya cultivation.
In 2018, the name ‘Pitahaya of Palora’ was officially registered and protected by the Ecuadorian Institute of Intellectual Rights. Palora is located in the Amazonia: the summers are long, warm and cloudy and the wet period short. That explains why, together with an average temperature of 26 degrees, Palora is the center of Pitahaya cultivation. Our producers Jonatahn and Maricela were born Palorenese and own a few hectares of Pitahaya. Our pitahayas are healthy and nice and fresh and sweet and therefore our future, says Maricela.
