The granadilla has an excellent source of potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron and fiber, it provides essential vitamins for the body such as: vitamin B1, B2, C and provitamin A. It also contains proteins and carbohydrates. The juice is used as a digestive stimulant, it also controls acidity, and helps to heal ulcers. The granadilla is high in fiber when consumed with the seeds.

The granadilla was highly appreciated by the Indians of Peru and the Spanish invaders called it granadilla because of the similarity and way it has with the Spanish pomegranates.

Granadilla harvest time is from June to December.
